Born as a variant of the traditional Sicilian cubaita, sweet bars of whole almonds and sugar syrup, the Sicilian almond crunch is one of the crunchiest confectionery creations.
To prepare it, the almonds are chopped and added to the sugar syrup, then the mixture is spread out to obtain a very thin layer. Once dry, it is cut into the traditional shape; This results in small crunchy squares to be savored bite after bite.
Be careful though, they are one leads to another!
